Shuttle

Hoshi’s shuttle is a relic from the Moon Kingdom. No one knows who built the shuttle or how old it is; just that it was not created during the time of the Moon Kingdom.

The shuttle is divided into three sections. The cockpit at the front, a small living area in the middle and a cargo bay at the back.

The cockpit contains a pilots console and a passenger seat. The controls are a mixture of touch panels and physical controls, such as a joystick. The voice activated computer is located within the cockpit.

The living area is very basic consisting of only a bunk, desk and food synthesizer. The desk and bunk can be folded into the bulkheads for extra floor space if required. The food synthesizer can create almost anything including metals, food, drinks and other objects. It can not create anything alive and detailed items can’t be created to the required specifications. This makes the synthesizer effectively useless for anything other then food. The food itself may look like the requested item, but it doesn’t taste like it. For example, an apple pie might end up tasting like chocolate cake or chicken soup could end up tasting like stale bread. The food produced by the synthesizer is enough to live on, but it is not very satisfying. The real thing is better.

The cargo bay contains the transporter, airlock and storage space.

The effects of the silver crystal kept the shuttle preserved for the 1000 years since the fall of the Sliver Millennium.

The shuttle was badly damaged when it crashed during the Sliver Millennium, and many of its systems were damaged or destroyed.

Faster Then Light drive (FTL): destroyed
Sublight drives: damaged – When fully operating, the sublight drives can move the shuttle at 25% light speed. In their damaged state, the drives can only operate at 3% light speed.
Thrusters: The thrusters are used to manoeuvre the shuttle. With thrusters at full power, the shuttle can travel at 1km/sec (0.625miles/sec). They are used when landing or taking off.
Weapons: damaged – the shuttle carries two laser beam weapons mounted under the cockpit at the front of the shuttle. These were damaged in the crash and are operating at 25% power. Any higher then 25% creates a high chance of overload, which has the possibility to destroy half the shuttle. The weapons are kept offline.
Transporter: The matter transporter can transport a single person to a pre-programmed point within 20kms (12.5miles). A location is programmed into the transporter by first reaching that point and sending the coords to the transport targeting computer with the use of the Minicomputer. The transporter can transport in from anywhere within the 20km range.

Due to the propulsion systems being heavily damaged, Hoshi likes to keep the shuttle grounded on Earth.
